Department for Transport (DfT)

United Nations (UN)

The UN is an international organisation which aims to facilitate cooperation in international law. In order to ensure consistency between the regulatory systems of member states the UN have developed hazard communication systems for the transport and supply of dangerous goods. International Air Transport Association (IATA)

IATA represents and leads the airline industry, supporting many areas of aviation activity and helps formulate industry policy on critical aviation issues.

ECHA is a European Agency responsible for the regulation of the supply hazardous goods within the EU. Soft copies of Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) and REACH are available on the website.

Chemical Industries Association (CIA)

The CIA represents chemical and pharmaceutical businesses throughout the UK. Members are committed to the Responsible Care Programme. It is a powerful collective voice within the industry.

Health and Safety Executive (HSE)

HSE is the national independent watchdog for work-related health, safety and illness. Included in their remit is the enforcement of hazardous goods regulations.  Guidance documents on the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and the implementation of CLP are available on the website.

British Association of Dangerous Goods Professionals – BADGP

BADGP is a professional body. It exists to promote the safe transport of materials that present risk, by supporting the professionals who work in the business of dangerous goods.

BADGP provides a place where dangerous goods professionals may learn and share experiences, through the use of the forum and in person at seminars and training events.

In addition it gives voice to the professionals, and enables them to communicate effectively with authorities.
